Conversation with a 5 year old boy yesterday, who is about to start kindergarten in a few weeks:
Me: So, are you excited about starting school?!
Kid: No, I'm not going.
Me: How come?
Kid: I'm going to be sick that day.
Me: Oh really? What's going to be wrong?
Kid: I'm going to have a fever.
Me: (trying to contain laughter) Ohhh, I see. What about the next day?
Kid: I'm going to have a fever for 10 months.
Me: Oh ok, gotcha.
Sounds like he's been planning this illness for a while now....
