One of the classes I'm in right now is currently learning about ecosystems and environments in science. We were looking at a picture of a horse drinking water from a pond, so the teacher asked the students where the horse was getting its water. The students responded, "from the pond." Then, trying to translate this information over to humans and our environment, she asked, "Where do we get our water from?" The first student to respond genuinely answered, "From bottles."
No lie.
The teacher and I lost it. Trying to control her laughter, she and I looked at each other and we both conceded that, yes, that was true. So she asked, "Well where do the bottles get the water from?" only to be answered with, "From the faucet."
What do you say to that? Happy 2011...from the land of bottled water aplenty!
